Toronto 2020: Remoistenable tissue workshop, and The Alway Symposium

The health, safety and well-being of our community members is very important to us. We regret to inform you that owing to the current situation with COVID-19, this event has been cancelled until further notice. 

  • An intensive workshop for book and paper conservators who are familiar with library/archive and paper collections and have experience with preservation and conservation issues. 
  • Learn how remoistenable tissue has many applications, including the treatment of verdigris corrosion, iron-gall ink corrosion, and the repair of other water-sensitive substrates. 
  • Experiment with isinglass and methylcellulose adhesives and prepare remoistenable tissue.
Participants: This workshop is aimed towards book and paper conservators who are familiar with library/archive and paper collections and have some experience with preservation/conservation issues. This may also include more advanced book and/or paper conservators. Limited space can accommodate a maximum of 10 people. 

Venue: John M. Kelly Library Conservation Studio, 113 St Joseph Street, Toronto, ON M5S 3C2 
Date: Saturday, March 21 2020 
Duration: 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Includes a one-hour lunch break and a short morning coffee break.

Upon acceptance, we will contact you and assist you with the registration process for the workshop. Advanced payment is required upon registration to secure a place.
